“The Dream We All Need” Short Animation

“The Dream We All Need” is an animated short film that shows the beauty of our future when everyone accepts, respects, and understands each other. A feasible future that, regrettably, is drifting towards becoming an unattainable utopia. It's our collaborated work with Sunyi Coffee and Double Di Studio.

About the project

The story itself is about Max’s journey from the university to their friend’s home to watch the Olympics. At the beginning of the film, we created a composition where people with disability are in the background and as the story progresses there are more and more people with disability showing. Ultimately, the ending part is Max watching Paralympic together with his friends. This treatment is done to deliver the message, that the future they need is acceptance, respect, and understanding so that we can treat them “equally” not a treatment based on pity.

As for the environment design, we also make sure all the aspects is giving people with disability access, such as a ramp in every staircase, a guiding block on the sidewalk, Max learning sign language to communicate with Liam, and there is an interpreter for sign language.
